This site is about the microelectronics industry and the changes it suffers as Moore's Law heads towards its final days. It's not aimed at electronics insiders, although they are welcome, but at people who are interested in how an industry reacts to technological and economic forces. Initially there will just be a blog, but other forms of content will be added over time. Shrinking Violence is not meant to be just a blog but an experiment in forms of journalism that can be used to explain technology.
Why Shrinking Violence? Because, as the elements that go onto each chip get smaller, the changes that the industry goes through will not be smooth and gradual, but sudden and wrenching.
The blog is written by Chris Edwards, a journalist who also blogs at Hacking Cough.
